Including City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

Who is it suitable for?
This course is suitable for people starting off in the construction industry, looking to gain the required training and qualifications to apply for a CSCS card.

What’s involved?
The course covers skills in the vocational areas of plumbing, carpentry and tiling.

Learners will also undergo a full training day on Health and Safety Awareness and sit the City and Guilds Health and Safety exam.

PGL will book learners in for the CITB Health Safety and Environment test on successful completion of the course. The test takes place at an external test centre and is essential if wanting a CSCS Green (Labourer) card. On successful passing of the test, PGL will then apply for a CSCS card on the learner’s behalf.

Where might it lead?
On successful completion of the course you could gain employment in the Construction sector or progress to a Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing, Electrical or Carpentry Skills.  There may also be the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship programme once a secure job role has been established.*
What funding is available?
This qualification is fully funded* for unemployed customers aged 19 or over who are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (WRAG).
