• Brief overview of the role

    To provide a high quality support service to Chief Officer(s), in a manner which reflects the professional image required of the OPCC and which safeguards the PCC’s principles and reputation.

    Vacancy description

    The post holder will be required to undertake the following principal responsibilities, but there is an expectation to undertake any further activities in accordance with the grade of the role. Furthermore, the role may change or develop as the PCC’s role develops.

    In particular to: 

    • Manage the administrative support requirements of the Chief Officer(s)
    • Manage the demand on time and proactively plan daily activity for the Chief Officer(s)
    • Respond to communications as appropriate (verbal and written) on behalf of the Chief Officer(s)
    • Brief the Chief Officer(s)
    • Accompany the Chief Officer(s) at internal and external meetings and events.

    Prior to interview, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal introduction event to meet the Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Executive, and to find out more about the role, the organisation,  the working environment etc.   

    Please note that this is a Grade 4 post (£21,135), but the commencing salary will be payable at 80% of the annual salary until such time the individual has completed the relevant assessments.
