    COVID– 19  Update  22nd March 2020:

Following the latest advice from the relevant authorities  PGL Training is now closed

    - Apprentices will continue to be supported as per the guidance below.

    Dear Employer/Apprentice

Given the considerable uncertainty that is being created around the rapid spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we thought you would appreciate an update on our state of readiness and contingency plans.

We are closely monitoring the general situation and following the advice given by the relevant authorities. Whilst our offices currently remain open, we are actively preparing for various eventualities and scenarios.

We have suspended apprentice groups with immediate effect. However, it is essential that our apprentices are still evidencing learning.

Apprentices - During this time we would like to invite you to take a look at your previous review and focus on the tasks that you have been set by your assessor and we would also like to direct you to your Onefile account where you will see that you have been set a task/tasks for you to focus on.

This would also be an ideal time to update your Onefile journals to reflect any off the job training that you have had so far. This will include any days that you have attended PGL for training towards your  qualification, any training that you have been given at work – perhaps a training course, or shadowing a colleague etc. As I am sure you are aware 20% of your contracted hours must be spent on off the job training- you will not be able to take your End Point Assessment until you have achieved this.

This would also be an opportunity for you to be collecting additional evidence – this can be through photos or through short video clips of you carrying out work. If you can take some photos or videos and either upload them to Onefile or email them to your tutor or assessor, they will be able to assess these. If you have been tasked with collecting specific evidence, please work to collect photos/videos for this. If this was not a target for you in the last review, please look at your gap analysis to see what is outstanding and focus on this.

Your assessor and tutor will still be working remotely or in the centre and are on hand to give you guidance or to carry out an observation through Skype or Face Time. They will be in touch with you to provide you with more detail as to your specific targets.

If you would like any assistance with Onefile, please do not hesitate to contact your assessor by email or phone.

In line with government guidelines we are in the process of introducing remote working wherever job roles permit to help minimise any risk, while keeping the business operating as normally as possible in this difficult time.

We will continue to follow advice issued by the government and Public Health England and will keep you updated with our plans.

If you have any questions, please contact us by phone or email as usual.

    Kind regards, PGL Team
