• Who is this course for?

    The Service Sector Training course is for students who want to work, or are working as part of a senior team within a warehousing operation in a logistics sector. This course will give you the opportunity to not only learn and develop your skills but also to practise them in the working environment ready for your career in the logistics sector.

    To be considered for this course you will need to be employed in a full time warehousing role, have prior experience of delivery logistics and a have a good standard of English and Math ability. Qualifications include:

    • NVQ Level 3 Warehousing & Storage – Advanced Apprenticeship
    • NVQ Level 2 Warehousing & Storage – Intermediate Apprenticeship

    NVQ Level 2 Warehousing & Storage – Intermediate Apprenticeship

    Employees who are working effectively and safely in a Warehouse environment and involved in stock recording, resolving problems and keeping records as well as communicating with others and working in a team.

    This is the competency based element of the qualification which looks at demonstrating practical skills. Units are selected to meet the specific needs of your business.

    • Mandatory Units (7 credits)
    • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues
    • Health Safety and Security at work
    • Optional Units (minimum of 19 credits)
    • Functional Skills

    The Functional skills for the framework are English and Mathematics at Level 1. These cover the transferable and functional skills that all employees need to carry out their roles effectively.

    • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
    • Course duration 12- 15 months.
    • Delivery method In the workplace with 1-2-1 monthly visits.

    Assessment methods Observations, examination of work products, questioning, professional discussions, witness testimonies, online examinations & knowledge workbooks.

    Entry requirements

    • Employed in a full time Warehousing role. Good standard of English and Maths.

    NVQ Level 3 Warehousing & Storage – Advanced Apprenticeship

    This qualification is for candidates who work or want to work as a senior team member in a warehousing operation within the logistics sector. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for career progression into the logistics sector.

    This is the competency based element of the qualification which looks at demonstrating practical skills. Units are selected to meet the specific needs of your business.

    • Mandatory Units (16 credits)
    • Contribute to the provision of customer service
    • Supervise the receipt, storage or despatch of goods
    • Provide Leadership for your Team
    • Take responsibility for Health & Safety
    • Optional Units (minimum of 24 credits)
    • Functional Skills

    This consists of Functional Skills in English and Mathematics at Level 2. These cover the transferable and functional skills that all employees need to carry out their roles effectively.
